Looking ahead to 2012, I see a few comfort zones that I would like to “escape” from – momentarily at least. Technical Presentations. I am rather shocked that I managed a decade working in IT without ever having to do such a presentation. Now? I am considering it out of the sphere of work – as something (almost) bordering on fun. My challenge is to learn how to present technical material in a way that doesn’t incite snoring in the audience or leave them scratching their heads.
On occasion I do miss the office environment – the social aspect is absent when one goes solo. I just need to watch a few of my favourite movies to remind me why I (think) I like (prefer?) working from home
I’m up to my old tricks again. STRONG. Social media and networking queen.

These are the three most valuable tools that I have encountered. Creativity allows the flow of ideas, and networking spreads them much like butter on toast! Our Tai lunch date yesterday yielded some fantastic ideas that I would have never thought of, and several new connections to discussion opportunities with. So often, we are too proud to ask another, thinking we can do everything ourselves.
This is fine and well, but it is FOOLISH PRIDE. Great minds collaborate!
