Looking ahead to 2012, I see a few comfort zones that I would like to “escape” from – momentarily at least. Technical Presentations. I am rather shocked that I managed a decade working in IT without ever having to do such a presentation. Now? I am considering it out of the sphere of work – as something (almost) bordering on fun. My challenge is to learn how to present technical material in a way that doesn’t incite snoring in the audience or leave them scratching their heads.

I don’t own an ipod, pad, any sort of RIM product, and can’t even bother to carry my cell phone with me. I actually cringe in inner terror when my husband wants me to do anything with his Blackberry and my thin little fingers always seem too chubby for touch screens. I believe I am one of my kind!

Is it really possible to take the geek out of the girl? Somehow, I think not. It doesn’t matter what part of the world I am in, I want to be connected. I sit her in a quaint little motel room by the sea on Grassy Key (Florida) and I am tweeting, facebooking, or perhaps writing another 10K of words for an e-book. We love what we love.
