Last week, I started thinking about the things that I need to change in my cms code before I port my product over to SourceForge. It occurs to me: do I have ego issues? Is releasing something before it’s “ready” simply logical, or is their an emotional reaction to criticism beneath it? I’m 100% certain that I’m not the only developer who has procrastinated on distribution indefinitely, always concerned that it wasn’t “ready”. I think I need to set a date to be finished my initial release and then let it out, ready or not there are further improvements and changes which I would like to make. The next 2 months are going to be quite busy for me – lots of events, minor weekend getaways, Iceland, Ottawa… so I don’t want to be too “industrious”, especially in light of all of the contact work which I also need to finish in the above time. May 1st, I’ll be releasing V 1.0 onto SourceForge…
